BSI Hosts Shanghai Government Delegation

PRESS RELEASE

29 August 2003

A senior Chinese delegation from the Shanghai Informatization Office will be hosted by BSI Group next week during a visit which forms a key part of the delegation's trade and standards mission to the UK.

The main purpose of the Shanghai Informatization Office's visit is to learn more about BSI's expertise in the development and implementation of Information Systems, particularly for the government sector. The delegation will receive briefings on Information Security Management and on BS 7799 the leading global information security standard, developed by BSI.

Tom Harland, Major Account Manager at BSI, says

"This is an excellent opportunity for BSI to share its expertise and to develop opportunities in the exciting and emerging Chinese markets. Shanghai is continuing to grow as a major global business hub and receiving delegations from an influential organisation such as the Shanghai Informatization Office is a reflection of BSI's commitment to developing our operations in the region."
